BP2X SECTOR GROUPS

Within the BP2X project, there are four BP2X Implementation Groups in place, through which the results of energy savings and lower carbon emissions shall be demonstrated:

Sub-group 1: Industrial decarbonisation
Sub-group 2: Gas grid decarbonisation
Sub-group 3: District heating decarbonisation
Sub-group 4: H2 Storage at scale

The BP2X Implementation Groups have identified several win-win green Hydrogen (GH2) and decarbonisation collaborations working within BP2X, allowing the GH2 economy to become a reality in Northern Ireland (NI).

Moreover, BP2X members have targeted the digital infrastructure requirements in the GH2 market that can lead to engagement with other strategic partners on both electrification and GH2. The complementary relationship of electrical systems working in concert with GH2 systems serves as the foundation of the energy transition. As large green power and fuel producers as well as utility operators support decarbonisation, GH2 becomes an enabler to stabilise the grid operation and to enable synergy in the energy system.

01

Industrial
Decarbonisation

Decarbonisation is the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions through the use of low carbon power sources, achieving a lower output of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.

02

Gas Grid
Decarbonisation

Decarbonisation is the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions through the use of low carbon power sources, achieving a lower output of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.

03

District
Heating

Decarbonisation is the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions through the use of low carbon power sources, achieving a lower output of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.

04

Storage
at Scale

Decarbonisation is the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions through the use of low carbon power sources, achieving a lower output of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.
